    Paul Lappin

    Paul is our exemplary Course Manager! Having started his green-keeping career in 1990 at Moyola Park Golf Club then progressing to Royal Portrush and Bangor Golf Clubs before taking up his Management position at Kirkistown Castle in 2000. A keen low-handicap golfer, Paul is passionate about traditional links style green-keeping ensuring that surfaces are firm and fast all year round using judicious amounts of fertilizer, chemicals and water. If you read our ‘Testimonials’ you will see that Paul and his Team do a wonderful job in managing and nurturing the Course in the way that James Braid intended over 80 years ago.

    PGA Professional

    Niall started his career here at Kirkistown Castle at the tender age of 11! A native to Cloughey, Niall has lived and breathed golf being Junior Captain for three years and representing the Club at Junior and Senior levels up until he opted to pursue a professional career in golf in 2008. Acquiring his PGA Professional status in 2012, Niall completed his training as an Assistant Pro at Knock Golf Club before taking up the Resident PGA Professional position here at Kirkistown Castle in 2014.

    Originally from Ardglass and having come from a golfing family I was delighted to take up post at Kirkistown Castle in 2013. I have previously worked in the travel and tourism, engineering and equestrian sectors and have married my skills and experience with my personal knowledge and enjoyment of golf. In my time in post I have endeavoured to bring a fresh new perspective to Kirkistown Castle in order to allow us to fully meet the demands of our stakeholders as well as ensuring the Club adapts and thrives well into the distant future.

    Jim is a stalwart of the Club; a player, a past GUI Official, Past Captain and Past Honorary Secretary. Jim’s association with Kirkistown Castle began in 1983 and his wealth of knowledge and experience is utilised fully in his role in the Club Office.

    Gillian is a Lady Associate Member with a family connection with the club for over 20 years. A keen player and having been previously employed by the Bank, Gillian’s role centres around looking after the accounts in the Office.
